This one hour video of a programme made for Channel 2, Israel TV explores a theme which will surely touch every fibre of your emotional being. It is woven round the life of Bronislaw Huberman in the context of the tragedy of the Jews under Nazism.
The violin playing of Joshua Bell on Huberman’s original violin and the tone of that sublime instrument reaches celestial heights. Although the Brahms is heard in fragments it was, for me, a profoundly emotional and compelling experience.
The entire film will command your attention and your emotions. I was brought to tears by the sight and sound of the IPO playing the Hatikva (was it in Berlin or was it Chestokhova…. I cannot now remember.)
There are a few technical problems – momentary – when the picture disappears, but reappears.
If you can connect your computer to your TV this will enhance your viewing experience.
